In an interview with The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Senator Claire McCaskill finally broke her silence on the positive impact that the GOP tax reform bill is having on Missouri families. She says she wouldn’t “vote to repeal the parts that help middle-class families,” yet when she had the chance to vote for the bill, she turned her back on Missouri.
Since the bill has passed, Claire called the cash bonuses and wage increases “scraps” and continued to mislead Missourians, earning “Two Pinocchios” from The Washington Post for her misleading claims about the impact of the legislation.
As her approval continues to decline and polls are tightening in her race with Attorney General Josh Hawley, Claire will continue to try and mislead Missouri voters on her record. But her long history of voting in favor of higher taxes, including on the middle-class won’t go unnoticed.
