MSNBC Panel: Clinton Comments Costly For Claire

Last night on MSNBC’s Meet The Press Daily, a panel discussed Hillary Clinton’s recent comments that described those who voted against her as “backward” and the effect that it could have on vulnerable Democratic incumbents. Weekly Standard editor and MSNBC contributor Bill Kristol was quick to point to the costly effect it could have on Claire McCaskill:

“If I were running the National Republican Senatorial Committee I would come up with some quick ads of Claire McCaskill hugging, you know, Claire McCaskill praising Hillary Clinton and then show that clip of Hillary Clinton calling the voters, the citizens of Missouri ‘backwards-looking’ and you know, suckers to fall for Trump, probably racist and everything.”

During the 2016 presidential election, McCaskill, one of the first U.S. Senators to endorse the Clinton, defended similar comments she made that characterized the more than 1.5 million Missourians who supported President Trump as “deplorables.” Earlier this month, McCaskill similarly expressed her own contempt for those who voted against her friend Hillary:
