ON THIS DAY: McCaskill Admits She Would Support A Public Option For Health Care

Eight years ago today, Senator Claire McCaskill went beyond supporting Obamacare and said that she would vote for a public option in a health care bill if it was brought up.

Constituent: “I was wondering—if the House passes a public option again in their reconciliation fix and it came to the Senate, would you vote for it?”

MCCASKILL: “Uh, probably, yeah.”

Thanks to McCaskill’s vote, millions of Missourians face far too many problems under Obamacare and McCaskill has made clear her desire for an even more liberal health care plan. This became even more evident last year when the Senate voted on single-payer health care, as McCaskill joined her fellow D.C. liberals and voted “present” despite several of her Democratic colleagues voting an outright “no.”
