Two years ago today, Claire McCaskill threw her support behind the liberal energy policy of Hillary Clinton that would have cost many hard working Americans their jobs:
“[Clinton] and Bernie Sanders both agree that we have to have more clean energy. Global warning, as Bernie says over and over again, is a crisis concerning our world. And America has to lead on this.”
McCaskill, who has referred to Missouri as a “coal dependent state” showed no hesitation in backing Clinton, who notoriously stated that she wanted to “put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business”:
“I’m the only candidate which has a policy about how to bring economic opportunity using clean, renewable energy as the key into coal country because we’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business”
McCaskill has a long history of support for liberal energy policies backed by Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, voting to advance a cap-and-trade bill and taking multiple votes that supported the EPA’s Waters of the United States Rule which would subject over 99 percent of Missouri to EPA regulation. McCaskill also took multiple votes in support of Obama’s Clean Power Plan that would slam Missouri families and businesses with a 49 percent to 62 percent increase in their utility bills and put over 12,000 Missourians out of work.
