Have you seen the cringeworthy video of Claire McCaskill’s comments made at her town hall in Kennett this past weekend?
QUESTIONER: “That’s one thing that the United States has that nobody else has is the freedom to fly around and be affordable where a normal person can afford it.”
SEN. CLAIRE McCASKILL: “Will you remind that when they come after me for my husband’s plane? That normal people can afford it.”
As The Washington Examiner has already pointed out, the average household income in Missouri is around $50,000 a year, while McCaskill used to jet around in an “eight passenger Pilatus PC-12/45, a turbo-prop plane” that retailed for a cool $2 million.
Maybe in the circles that Sen. McCaskill runs in, her friends can afford to drop millions to buy a private plane, but her assumption that “normal people” in Missouri could afford to do that just represents how out-of-touch she is with her constituents.
